The Etobicoke Dolphins delivered a commanding performance from start to finish, blanking the Toronto Aeros 5-0 in a one-sided U22 Elite contest. The Dolphins set the tone early with a relentless offensive onslaught, outshooting the Aeros 24-2 in the opening period. Grace Van Volsen, wearing number 14, opened the scoring midway through the first, converting a setup from Adrianna Milani and Haley Box. Just over three minutes later, Milani returned the favor, scoring a goal of her own with assists from Van Volsen and Megan Mossey to give the Dolphins a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The second period saw the game's physicality increase, with penalties mounting for both sides. The Dolphins' penalty kill was put to the test, but it rose to the occasion spectacularly. While shorthanded, Madeline McCullough found the back of the net, assisted by the ever-involved Adrianna Milani, to extend the lead to 3-0. The period took a severe turn for the Aeros when Jaelyn Mundy was assessed a checking from behind penalty and a game misconduct, resulting in a suspension and leaving her team shorthanded for the remainder of the contest. Despite some pushback, the Aeros could not solve Dolphins' goaltender Emeline Grennan.
Any hope of a Toronto comeback was extinguished early in the third period. Grace Van Volsen netted her second of the game, again assisted by Milani, who finished with a goal and three helpers. Renee Bishop capped off the scoring for the Dolphins, with Madeline McCullough picking up an assist to complete her multi-point night. In net, Emeline Grennan was perfect, turning aside all 13 shots she faced for a well-earned shutout victory. The Dolphins' defense was stifling, limiting the Aeros to just three shots in the final frame to seal a comprehensive 5-0 win.
